Everything you’ve learned in this course will become second nature the longer you practice it. So if you’re feeling overwhelmed, know that the feeling is only temporary.
When to expect results from your SEO work? It depends on your target audience and how competitive it is. For example, a wedding photographer in Bellingham, Washington will be able to hit Google Page 1 sooner than a wedding photographer in New Jersey, simply because there aren’t likely to be as many competitors targeting the same keywords. SEO on brand new websites performs better than SEO on already existing sites. Brand new sites I launch have seen Google Page 1 results in as little as 3 months. There are a lot of factors. Also—being repetitive again—blogging will make a significant impact on this timeline.
Check in from time to time to see how your SEO is performing by searching for your target keywords on Google and seeing where your site is ranking.
If you are a Designer, I recommend digging in and really learning this so you can add it to the services you offer. In my experience, SEO expertise, is really needed in the Squarespace realm. This is a very valuable service to offer and, I can attest, will grow your business exponentially.
